ReCo was tasked with evacuating a pipeline measuring 8.3 miles in length and 36 inches in outer diameter (OD). The pipeline was initially pressurized at 568 PSIG, with the objective of reducing it to 0 PSIG. This required careful execution to ensure efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
ReCo successfully transferred over 12 million standard cubic feet (MMSCF) of natural gas from the pipeline into an operational in-service line. The entire process was completed in just 36 hours, minimizing operational downtime. Key challenges addressed included:
- Operational Precision: Expert operators ensured accurate decompression to reach 0 PSIG.
- Downtime Reduction: The project was executed swiftly to avoid prolonged service interruptions.
- Environmental Compliance: Gas was transferred instead of vented or flared, significantly cutting methane emissions.
ReCo’s expertise in handling low-ending-pressure evacuations was demonstrated by achieving 0 PSIG safely and efficiently. The project minimized operational disruption while aligning with sustainable practices. ReCo continues to be a trusted partner for pipeline operators seeking reliable, eco-conscious evacuation and compression solutions.
